Had I been diagnosed as a child, my world would have been so much "better." Back in the day, it was pretty much considered an illness that mostly affected boys. If you were a girl, quiet and well behaved(I wasn't always so quiet and well behaved, but anyway.........), weren't aggressive and yada yada yada!!!!! I was a very good reader and was often called upon, in class, to read things aloud, but I couldn't tell you one darn thing I had just read about. I got myself to a doctor in my early 20's and got myself diagnosed. It was a relief to know that this was an illness I had instead of being "dumb." I take 70 mg of Vyvanse daily. It's a time released drug, and this is the medication that works best for me. Believe me, I've tried them all, and they all made me feel really jittery, tremors, heart palpiations, and a racing heart and when I was coming down from it, got agitated and was mostly in a bad mood. With the time released Vyvanse, it works all day without having to remember to take a pill 2 or more times a day, as was how it was with all the other meds I had tried. I don't even feel like I'm on anything when I take it. I know it works, I just don't have any of those side effects. Different strokes for different folks.
