Samsung S3: Alive and More Kicking!

Amidst all the hype surrounding the release of the much awaited S5 and the soon anticipated iPhone 6, a lot of us have forgotten about the marvel of a phone that is the Samsung Galaxy S3. Though there is not an iota of doubt that release of the S3, back in May 2012, marked the beginning of a new era for the South Korean manufacturer; however, during the last year or so, the focus has gradually shifted away from this remarkable smartphone as newer options continue to make their way to market shelves.

Unlike Apple iPhone 4, which is no longer in production, the S3 is still available and promises to be an ideal option for those who are looking to buy an advanced smartphone with sophisticated features, without rally having to invest a fortune. In India, the S3 is currently available at a humble price slightly over the 20k mark, which is quite reasonable considering the features of the phones available in the price range. To help consolidate this, let us take a quick look at all that an S3 packages.

1.4GHz Quad Core Application Processor

Unarguably one of the fastest smartphones available in the price range!

16GB Internal Memory

Large storage space, ideal for installing large applications and storing media files.

8 Mega Pixels Primary Camera

Exceptional clarity and true-to-life colors make the camera a sheer delight!

1.9 Mega Pixels CMOS Secondary Camera

Great picture quality, ideal for video conferencing via Skype and other similar apps

4.8”, 720 x 1280 pixel display, HD Screen

Vivid colors and graphics to ensure optimal viewing pleasure and user experience.

FM Radio with Recording

Don’t just listen to your favorites. Record and create your own library.

Android 4.0 (ICS) OS

A pretty stable Android version, with a soon-to-be-released upgrade anticipated.

Micro SD Slot

Extend the storage space with ease. Simply add an SD card and you are good to go!

Considering the features, it would be safe to say that Samsung Galaxy S3 has everything a smartphone user may ask for besides a hefty price tag. Against all odds and litigation troubles that once surrounded this smartphone, the S3 has come out strong and is a great option for those who seek to buy a premium smartphone at a reasonable price. In fact, it is a really bold decision by the company to continue to sell this once-flagship model, especially alongside S4, which has also been succeeded by the S5.
